As a company firmly grounded in the District of Columbia and respected for its community building capabilities, WC Smith enjoys collegial working relationships with city leaders, District agencies, ANC’s, community organizations, and educational institutions.
We have honed the ability to meld the city's long-term vision for growth with residents' needs and desires as we create communities throughout the region. With fully three-quarters of our 700 employees living and/or working in the District of Columbia, we are committed to the long-term viability and sustainability of the neighborhoods we create and the people who inhabit them.
What sets WC Smith apart from other firms is our holistic approach to community building. We believe it takes more than attractive housing and office buildings to sustain neighborhoods, and over the past 50 years, we have developed a successful model for creating and maintaining healthy communities. We know the importance of communicating with existing residents and stakeholders. We embrace diversity. We recognize the importance of amenities in making a community livable.
We are proud of the fact that we produce quality housing, commercial and retail projects, but we are just as focused on the less tangible, subtler aspects of development such as aesthetics, safety, thoughtful use of space, and creating opportunities for people to interact and feel ownership in their communities.
John is a terrific property manager and he took the time to make sure I was prepared for my move. You can tell that he and the staff are dedicated to creating a clean, safe and warm community at The Norwood.
I have had a very pleasant experience so far. The building is in good condition, well maintained, and is in a nice area.
Great building to live in. Really well managed. Building manager is quick to respond to any issues and is really friendly.
You can't beat the convenience of the neighborhood and access to public transit.
The building is beautiful and the staff is friendly and responsive. Good access to bus routes. Central air in apartments is great and definitely needed.
The Norwood is a great building to live in! Overall, the location is wonderful, and there is a great sense of community among the residents.
The maintenance staff live in the building and are very responsive to any problems. Units are fairly large for the price.
